After assembly, I added thick sheets of styrofoam to the sides, floor, and roof using double-faced tape. Our winters in northern Indiana are tough on feral cats, but these shelters are roomy, sturdy, and wind-resistant, especially with heated mats. It's a comforting thought that they have a good chance of making it through until spring

I had a problem with wet litter due to rain while keeping my cat's litter box on the patio. This dog house, with some modifications, has solved the issue. It's larger than the litter box's enclosure and does a great job keeping the litter dry.

They absolutely adore it. The only thing I wish it had was a door, but it's still the best option for our needs. A small cutout at the bottom on the back panel would have been a nice touch to accommodate a heated pad, but it was easy to drill without compromising the structure.
